The Directors believe in a 'studio approach' to the movie business by maintaining a diverse portfolio of movie productions; including live-action movies in the English, Hindi and regional Indian languages as well as animation movies for the Indian and International market.
UTV Mauritius in 2007 released an international co-production with Fox Searchlight titled 'The Namesake', an adaptation of the book by Pulitzer prize-winning author Jhumpa Lahiri. The film is directed by the celebrated Mira Nair . Additionally UMP Plc released the Chris Rock directed 'I Think I Love My Wife' followed by 'Life in a... Metro' starring Shilpa Shetty of "Big Brother" fame.
UMP Plc opened 2008 with blockbuster of the year 'Jodhaa Akbar' directed by Academy Award nominated director Ashutosh Gowariker. The studio has a line-up of 20 films to be released till Feb 2009. Amongst UMP Plc's forthcoming titles is M Night Shyamalan's next sci-fi film 'The Happening' that releases world wide on Friday The 13th June 2008.
